National Planning Commission (NPC) has said the effective implementation of Malawi 2063 requires national policies to be linked to issues, enablers and pillars of the vision.
NPC Director of Knowledge and Learning, Dr Joseph Nagoli said this Monday during the launch of NPC Policy Digest Platform with the support of United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Lilongwe.
He said NPC wants to bring on board all the national policies to align them to enablers and pillars of Malawi 2063.
“We want to provide easy access of policies to colleagues, partners and stakeholders for reference,” Nagoli explained.
The Director said there was need to refer these policies as we implement the Malawi 2063.
“We have created a one stop window for public policy documents in Malawi where colleagues can just click on and download a policy and refer to it as we implement Malawi 2063,” he added.
Nagoli said previous it was difficult for individuals to access these policies in government offices and department and one had to travel in order to get them since they were in hard copy form.
He pointed out that NPC would look at the policies with a view to ensure that there are no gaps in the implementation of Malawi 2063 and some policies require to be updated.
NPC Monitoring and Evaluation Manager, Austin Chingwengwe said stakeholders could access the Policy Digest through web portal of www.npc.mw.
He added that all polices that are in use would be easily downloaded and some additional information the Digest would make reference to Ministry’s websites which are interlinked to NPC web portal.
Chingwengwe said the introduction of the Policy Digests was one of operationalization of the Malawi 2063.-( By Tione Andsen, MANA)
